"Anuramech at the Feculent Space Port" - (24in x 16in acrylic on canvas)

FOR SALE - This is a painting I thought of after taking a stroll one morning. The basic concept is of a train station of sorts set on a desolate irradiated moon of a planet that is being eroded by a near by sun. Then there is these Anuramechs ( Approximately 88% of amphibian species are classified in the order Anura, The Japanese word "mecha" is derived from the Japanese abbreviation meka (メカ?) for the English word "mechanical". In Japanese, mecha encompasses all mechanical objects, including cars, guns, computers, and other devices. hence Anuramech). These are Anura that have had nano technology integrated into their bioware which has allowed these toads and frogs to rapidly evolve on a mental capacity. Also the nanobots have placed little metal nodes on the flesh of the Anura in order to make them able to photosynthesis even in highly irradiated areas. Allowing them to become almost pirates of space due to their ability to travel and survive in sectors that would normally be to radiated... Nice dream right?

Where the anura manufactured/designed species by another race? Or did they start out as a toads and made their own technology?

I've thought about elaborating on this further. Some of my other recent animal/space paintings have been following a similar line. it sprung up from the concept of AI (nanobots in particular) being uninterested in human beings as a physical thing to meld with due to our bad habits, emotions, and sedentary lifestyle. So they wipe out humanity like we tried to wipe out god with our technology. But that concept of relationships with creators, it's sort of a love hate thing. So after wiping out humanity, the robots meld with other animals trying to reach the mental plane of culture, literature, poetry, business, etc... that was destroyed with humanity in order to understand the creators that they hated so much. So sort of a concept of all these subgroups of nanobots and cyborg like communities that picked other animals, assuming they were the best biological creature to meld with and thus creating sort of a star wars/star craft esq universe where all these creatures now with minds beyond or equal to human capacity trading/fighting/living/etc... Yeah, obviously it needs to have some kinks worked out but It think it's something to keep picking at. I've written down some of it, I'll see where it goes.

I think its all fantastic in any case, I was just curious :D. Lol I can certainly see a nano-bot revolution happening, I was just intrigued if it was a case of human intervention or evolutionary convergence. Its really refreshing to see truly fascinating and unique concepts. What makes your piece cool is could very well be a plausible consequence for humanity's avarice. I think it would be really cool to see a universe of equally intelligent earthly species. This reality would be incredibly rich with such interesting and diverse thoughts and perspectives. I'm also glad I'm not the only cosmic dreamer, one of my current paintings i'm working on is evolved woolly jelly fish on earth far after human habitation. Can't wait to see how the idea progresses.

that's fantastic, how long you got until that piece is finished? And I'm glad you like the idea, it's definitely a larger project I'd like to tackle in the future.

I laid out a background on a 40X60 and just took some recent jellyfish references to finalize what I kind of how them planned out in the ol' think-tank :p Probably a month or so because I only have time on the weekends u,u. This piece was superb, It'll be awesome to see more visions and incarnations
